Municipal Enforcement Hosts Bike Rodeo

The school year is coming to a close, which means that Iqaluit’s youngest residents are going to be taking to the streets on two wheels. Bike season is here!
That’s why on June 13th, Iqaluit Municipal Enforcement Officers and their Iqaluit V Division RCMP colleagues hosted a bike rodeo at Nakasuk Elementary School. Kindergarten and Grade One students got a chance to learn some basic bike safety, and to have some fun outdoors with the officers.

The City is pleased to announce that the annual community clean up will take place on Friday, June 16, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We encourage all residents, businesses and visitors to spend the day outdoors and assist in cleaning up our beautiful community.
Bags, gloves, and other supplies will be available for pickup starting at 8:30 AM outside the Iqaluit Library/Unikkaarvik Visitor Center.

The City of Iqaluit invites youth to a series of public consultations about youth crisis prevention, and wants to hear your ideas on how we can better serve the youngest members of this community.
The sessions take place on June 12 and 13, 2:00 pm at the Elders Qammaq, and at 7:00 pm at the Youth Centre. Gift cards are available for the first 12 people to attend.

Municipal Enforcement Officer Swearing In
June 9, 2023 – Iqaluit, Nunavut
The City of Iqaluit’s Municipal Enforcement Department is happy to announce that three of their officers were officially sworn in on June 6, 2023.
Officers Najee Anderson, Jenna Korgak and Briana Shaimaiyuk-Baines took their oaths of office in front of family and friends at Iqaluit City Hall.
The City of Iqaluit wants to congratulate the officers on this milestone, and thank them for their continued service.
