The turf will be ready for community use starting Saturday, May 17, 2025.

Today, Mayor and Council stand with communities across the country to recognize Red Dress Day, a national day of awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S+).
The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents of a temporary road closure on Monday, May 5, 2025, to accommodate a community walk in commemoration of Red Dress Day.
The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents of a complete road closure on Fred Coman Street from Saturday, May 3 to Wednesday, May 7. This closure is required to facilitate essential water main repair work.
During the closure, residents are advised to use the detour route via Natsiq Street. A map outlining the detour is provided below to assist with navigation.
Please be advised of a water shutdown on Thursday, May 1, from approximately 9:00AM to 12:00PM to allow for necessary water infrastructure work.

The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents of a temporary road closure on Akilliq Drive, from the Discovery Hotel to the intersection of Allannguaq Street. This closure is in place to allow crews to open a nearby creek, facilitating spring thaw runoff.
This section of the road is currently closed and is expected to reopen at 9:00 PM tonight.
