The City of Iqaluit is proud to announce the successful completion of this year’s Bike Safety Program, delivered in partnership with local elementary schools and the RCMP. Over the past week, more than 350 students from Nakasuk, Nanook, Trois-Soleils, and Joamie Schools participated in this vital safety initiative.

The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents that the Public Works will be conducting hydrant flushing and inspections throughout the city. This work is scheduled to begin this week and will continue for approximately one month.

This program is necessary to remove sediment that accumulates in the water mains. It allows crews to operate, inspect, and maintain all of the fire hydrants to ensure that they are working properly.

The City of Iqaluit extends a heartfelt thank you to all residents, businesses, and community groups who participated in the 2025 Community Cleanup on Friday, June 13. Your efforts helped collect 315 bags of garbage and an additional 35 cubic metres of oversized waste. While much of this litter comes from within our own community, the strong turnout and shared effort reflect a growing sense of responsibility for our shared spaces.
