The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents that the ongoing road closure on Mivvik Street has encountered a slight delay, and the roadway will now remain closed until the end of the day on August 11, 2024. This closure is necessary to complete the much-anticipated repaving of Mivvik Street, a vital infrastructure project funded through the Municipal Capital Block Funding.
The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that a small fire occurred at the landfill this morning. As a precautionary measure, the landfill will be closed for the remainder of the day.
We remind residents not to dispose of lithium batteries in regular household garbage, as they pose a significant fire hazard. Please ensure that lithium batteries are taken to appropriate recycling facilities.
