The City of Iqaluit is thrilled to announce the rollout of the Inuit Child First Initiative starting on November 1, 2024. This program provides crucial financial support to Inuit families with children under 18 years of age.
The City would like to inform residents that the road conditions remain very icy today. Please proceed with care and safety on the roads. Sand trucks are working to improve road conditions. Thank you for helping keep Iqaluit’s roads and residents safe.

The City of Iqaluit would like to inform its residents in respect to regulations under the Municipal Traffic Safety Bylaw 943, as well as the Nunavut Traffic Safety Act in regards to removing all accumulation of snow, ice or any other obstruction that may obstruct the view of the driver or become dislodged from any other part of the vehicle while in motion.
The City of Iqaluit advises residents that the precautionary boil water advisory is lifted for the following location: Happy Valley – 400’s, 500’s and 1600’s

The City of Iqaluit would like to remind residents of the Household Hazardous Waste drop off point open Saturday October 26, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Abe Okpik Hall in Apex. This event provides residents an opportunity to safely dispose of their Household Hazardous Waste.
The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents about an upcoming infrastructure upgrade involving drainage improvements along the north side of Federal Road. This essential work will help improve drainage and stabilize the surrounding environment.
Temporary road closures will begin on October 26, 2024, and the project is expected to be completed by October 30, 2024.
