We are currently recruiting a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the City’s fleet of vehicles.
The City of Iqaluit will be hosting our annual Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Day and paint exchange on Saturday May 27, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Air Base Garage (downtown near the 4 corners, next to the Post Office). This event provides residents an opportunity to safely dispose of their Household Hazardous Waste, as well as an opportunity for residents to swap paint canisters.
The City of Iqaluit advises residents that the boil water advisory is lifted for the following locations: 935, 944, 946, 1036, & 1057.

The City of Iqaluit is pleased to announce two upcoming information sessions about Iqaluit’s sustainable water plan. These sessions will take place on June 7th at Abe Okpik Hall in Apex and June 9th at the Elders Qammaq. Both sessions take place from 4pm to 6pm.
Please be advised of a water shut down on Thursday, May 25th, 2023 starting at 7:00 p.m. to allow for necessary water infrastructure work.
Location of water interruption: 607, 609, 611, 613, 616, 619, 621, 622, 624, 626, 760, 761, 923, 924, 926 and 927.
The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents of a road closure planned for the Four Corners Intersection on Saturday May 20th, from 7 am until 8 pm. This closure is to allow for street upgrades.
Local traffic will still be able to access businesses throughout the duration of the work. The site layout and traffic control plans are shown below.

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents of the road closures and traffic control measures being implemented along Mivvik Street.
These measures are anticipated to be in effect between:

This will allow for a culvert to be installed.

The City of Iqaluit will issue a precautionary boil water advisory for the above addresses following the shutdown.
Due to the Victoria Day holiday, City of Iqaluit offices will be closed at both building 1085 and 901 on May 22nd. The offices will re-open for business at 9 am on May 23.
Both arenas, the Elder’s Qammaq and the Youth Centre will also be closed on May 22. The Aquatic Centre will operate on Holiday Hours, and will be open from noon until 4 p.m.
