The City of Iqaluit will be hosting our annual Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Day and paint exchange on Saturday May 27, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Air Base Garage (downtown near the 4 corners, next to the Post Office). This event provides residents an opportunity to safely dispose of their Household Hazardous Waste, as well as an opportunity for residents to swap paint canisters.

The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents of a road closure planned for the Four Corners Intersection on Saturday May 20th, from 7 am until 8 pm. This closure is to allow for street upgrades.

Local traffic will still be able to access businesses throughout the duration of the work. The site layout and traffic control plans are shown below.

The City of Iqaluit will issue a precautionary boil water advisory for the above addresses following the shutdown.

Victoria Day Holiday

Due to the Victoria Day holiday, City of Iqaluit offices will be closed at both building 1085 and 901 on May 22nd. The offices will re-open for business at 9 am on May 23.

Both arenas, the Elder’s Qammaq and the Youth Centre will also be closed on May 22. The Aquatic Centre will operate on Holiday Hours, and will be open from noon until 4 p.m.
