A new member of the City of Iqaluit Council Committee will receive the oath of office during a swearing-in ceremony at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020, in council chambers at city hall building #901.
John Fawcett was appointed as the newest member of council during a city council meeting on Tuesday, October 27th, 2020 with Motion #20-336. This seat fills the vacancy after Malaiya Lucassie resigned as a council member on October 14th, 2020.
Halloween events, such as Spook-a-Rama, have been a big part of the Makkuttukkuvik Youth Centre. This year with COVID-19 guidelines around social distancing and other safety protocols, Spook-a-Rama has been cancelled.
Makkuttukkuvik Youth Centre will still be in high spirits as it will be open Saturday, October 31st 2020, for Halloween-themed programming. This will be open to youth ages 13-18 with a limited capacity of 25 participants.
City Council proclaims and recognizes October 25th-31st as “Respiratory Therapy Week” in the City of Iqaluit. The decision was unanimously passed with Motion 20-295 on September 22nd, 2020.
The City of Iqaluit joins the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists and other municipalities across Canada in celebrating Respiratory Therapy Week during the week of October 25th-31st, 2020.
