Snowmobile Safety and Reminders

 

The City would like to remind snowmobilers to use caution and follow safe driving practices
when operating a snowmobile this winter.

As per City By-Law 557, snowmobilers are required to be considerate and respectful of other
residents and private property. Please only use snowmobile trails that are clearly marked, as
outlined on the attached snowmobile trail map.

The City of Iqaluit continues to work closely with the Government of Nunavut’s Department of Health to monitor and respond as needed to the COVID-19 situation. The City’s holiday event schedule has been updated below to follow the current health restrictions in place.

The Annual Santa Clause Parade is postponed from Saturday, December 5th to Saturday, December 19th.

City Council Approves 2021 Budget
November 25, 2020 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

 

Iqaluit City Council approved the 2021 Budget at a Council meeting on November 24th, 2020.

Councillor Sheppard, chair of the Finance Committee of Whole stated, “The 2021 Budget will help the city strengthening its internal systems to be able to provide high-quality services for residents and improve staff workspaces to ensure our workforce can work in a healthy environment with the tools they need.”
