Residents that have no water are advised to take the following actions:
1. Consider turning on your heat trace.
2. Call your landlord and/or a plumber to thaw or water pick your service line.
3. Verify that your circulation pump is working. If it is not working, call your landlord or plumber. It is very important to ensure your circ pump is operating.

The City Of Iqaluit is currently working closely with the Department of Health regarding the discoloured water due to the valve repair this morning. Residents are advised that there are no health concerns with the water, and it is safe to drink.

Tuesday, March 8th marks International Women’s Day. While women only make up 3% of Canadian firefighters, they account for 30% of the team at the Iqaluit Fire Department. That is 10 times higher than the national average.
In recognition of International Women’s Day and these incredible firefighters, the City would like to highlight the above information and promote women, both in the industry and beyond.

Please be advised that as a result of a citywide water shut on Tuesday, March 1st, 2022 from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. City Hall will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m and reopening at 1:00 pm. Recreational Facilities will be closed from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and reopen at 12:00 pm.
