07:00 - The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that the city services, such as water delivery, waste management, garbage pick-up and snow removal, are still suspended and city facilities remain closed to the public, until further notice, due to severe weather conditions.

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that the CCGS Henry Larsen is conducting ice-breaking operations near Iqaluit and Resolution Island and within Frobisher Bay this week. This is to allow a safe escort of the Kitikmeot W. and Qikiqtaaluk W. into Iqaluit’s Harbour.

Potential Traffic Delays for Santa Claus Parade

The City would like to advise residents of the possibility of traffic delays due to the Santa Claus Parade, which is taking place on Saturday, December 3, 2022.

The parade will be departing from the AWG Complex at 1:00PM and will travel towards the Four Corners intersection where it will turn left, and then end at the Nakasuk School parking lot.

Fox Trap Safety While on the Land
November 29, 2022 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to remind residents to exert caution when walking on the land – especially with small children, or animals – as fox traps are present.

Residents are reminded that they are responsible to keep their pets and children safe when travelling on the land. Municipal Bylaw #924, also known as the Domestic Animal Control Bylaw, states that all animals are required to be leashed and under control at all times.
