The City of Iqaluit has opened registration to participate in the Public Hearing for DP 20-062 for affected properties in the Core Area between June 30th and July 7th, 2021.

WHAT IS DEVELOPMENT PERMIT APPLICATION DP 20-062?
On the South West side of the City’s Core Area, the Uquutaq Society has submitted a development
application DP 20-062 to increase the existing capacity of Building 778 from 20 to 42 beds and execute
interior renovations. This Low Barrier Shelter will provide an overnight respite program without the standard
zero-tolerance policy for intoxication, operating with three (3) staff members, serving both vulnerable men
and women. This change will reduce existing barriers for individuals to access services.

AM I AFFECTED?
Properties within a 250m radius of Building 778 on Fred Coman Street will be able to register with the
Planning & Development Department to participate in the Public Hearing regarding DP 20-062. Please see
