Casual Fitness Centre Attendants

Reporting to the Fitness Coordinator this position assists in daily Fitness Centre operations. Performing cleaning duties, enforcing rules and regulations of the Fitness Centre, demonstrating proper equipment care and use, providing excellent customer service, responding to emergencies (within the Fitness Centre and other areas of the building as required)  and ensures guest’s safety. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate effectively to both youth and adults. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Grade 10
  • First Aid and CPR
  • Customer Service Experience

Preferred Education, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experience working with patrons in a fitness facility setting. (ie. Coaching etc)
  • A minimum of one to two years of experience working in the fitness industry.
  • National Coaching Certification Level 1 is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience in working as part of a team.
  • A General knowledge of fitness equipment operations and maintenance.
  • Must be able to work, evenings and weekends.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Would be an asset to hold fitness certifications and/or training (canfitpro, PTS or FIS or equivalent)
  • Ability to speak Inuktitut is a definite asset.

Due to the nature of this position, the successful candidate must submit a clear criminal reference check with the vulnerable sector and TB test at the time of application.

The rate of pay for this position is $22.61 an hour plus 6% vacation pay; the work week will be approximately 10-15 hours per week.
