Information Technology Specialist
Reporting to the Director of Corporate of Services, the Information Technology Specialist is responsible for the installation, management, maintenance and support of the City of Iqaluit’s Information Technology infrastructure.
Responsibilities include:

Management, maintenance and support of server, network, equipment, software and website
-
Responding to requests from staff, such as, installs, repairs and upgrades of computer software/hardware, phone systems, photocopiers, printers and related equipment

Creating, modifying and archiving of user accounts

Assessing security risks in terms of virus/malware protection and unauthorized use

Supporting active directory server structure (accounts, permissions, file access)

Network management using GUI interface or command line to support switches, routers, access points, wireless controllers, VPNs, IP addressing, phone system and firewalls

Maintenance of information and licenses and assistance with policies
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-
Undergraduate Degree in information technology or related field
-
Minimum three years work experience supporting, implementing and/or administering networks, servers, desktops and printers

Strong analytical problem solving skills
-
Confidence with various software
-
Excellent verbal and written communication
-
Valid Driver’s License
Equivalencies that include a combination of education and experience may be considered.
The annual salary for this position is $71,424.47. In addition, the City of Iqaluit provides an annual settlement allowance of $20,907.43 and an excellent benefits package.
Due to the nature of the position, the successful candidate must provide a clear criminal record check.
