Snowmobile Trails
April 25, 2023 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

City of Iqaluit Public Works wishes to inform residents that some of the snowmobile trails inside the City are becoming impassable due to the melting conditions.

City crews have begun clearing ditches to prepare for the spring melt. That means, some of the previously accessible snowmobile trails may become impassable. Please use caution while travelling on the City trails.

The brief water interruption on 100’s 200’s and 300’s has now been resolved.

The 100’s 200’s and 300’s remain under a precautionary boil water advisory.

During a precautionary boil water advisory, the City recommends that all water for consumption is brought to a rolling boil for a minimum of one full minute.

It is recommended that all water be boiled for the following uses:

Water Plant To Return To Operation
April 20, 2023 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City would like to inform residents that work has been completed on the Iqaluit Water Treatment Plant, and that the Government of Nunavut’s Chief Public Health Officer has approved resuming operations.

The tentative date for reactivating the Water Treatment Plant is April 25th. Closer to April 25th, the City will be releasing more specific details about timing and possible water interruptions.
