The City of Iqaluit would like to remind residents that Fire Prevention Week is taking place from October 6 to October 12, 2024. This year’s theme is "Smoke Detectors: Make Them Work for You!" It highlights the crucial role that working smoke detectors play in keeping your home and family safe.
The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that Niaqunngusiariaq Road will be partially closed from October 5 to October 8, 2024, due to the installation of water and sewer infrastructure for the new Recovery Centre being built across from the Arctic Winter Games Arena.
The City of Iqaluit would like to remind residents that our Public Works team will be removing temporary speed bumps in various locations over the next few weeks in preparation for the winter season.
As the speed bumps are removed, we urge all drivers to continue driving slowly and cautiously, especially in residential areas where children are often present. Safety remains a priority for our community, and we thank you for your continued cooperation.
The City of Iqaluit advises residents that the precautionary boil water advisory is lifted for the following location: Arctic Winter Games Arena and École des Trois-Soleils.

The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents of a temporary road closure on Monday, September 30, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The closure will affect the area from 4-Corners down Queen Elizabeth Way to the Elders Qammaq. This is to accommodate the gathering for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and the subsequent Reconciliation Walk.
