City invites input for single-use plastic reduction strategy

The City is considering a bylaw to ban single-use checkout plastic bags in 2022 and is looking at developing a strategy to reduce other single-use items in the City of Iqaluit.

To submit your feedback on single-use plastic reduction, bans and reusable alternatives, please fill out the online survey by September 16, 2021.

The City installed new public trashcans on July 27, 2021.

 

The new trashcans are located at:

 

•          Causeway

•          River fishing access/golf course area

•          Iqaluit Square

•          Elder’s Qammaq

•          City Hall

•          Youth Centre lookout park

•          AWG Arena

•          Tarr Inlet Trailhead

Car wash ban extended
August 5, 2021 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

 

The City would like to remind residents that the water ban for car washes is still in effect. This ban includes all motor vehicles and boats, whether for personal or commercial use.

 

This notice is issued in accordance with section 206(3) of Bylaw 200.
