Please be advised of a water shut down on to allow for necessary water infrastructure work.

Location of water interruption: Plateau

The City of Iqaluit is issuing a precautionary boil water advisory

During a precautionary boil water advisory, the City recommends that all water for consumption is brought to a rolling boil for a minimum of one full minute.

Plateau Water Service Restored

4:30pm Water service to Plateau customers will be restored within an hour. The return to full service will be gradual for some Plateau residents, as the water mains take time to refill.

The Plateau is under a precautionary boil water order.

While under a precautionary boil water, please follow these instructions.

Plateau Repairs Continue - Afternoon

City of Iqaluit Public Works crews are continuing repairs on the water main supplying the Plateau. Good progress has been made and the City appreciates your patience.

When water does return to the Plateau later today, the system takes time to return to full pressure. It will be a gradual return for many customers.

When work is complete, the City will issue a Public Service Announcement.

Plateau Water Update - Evening

Public Works teams are currently re-pressurizing the water mains, and service will be gradually restored to the Plateau tonight.

There will be another interruption to service to finish the repair, beginning at around 10am tomorrow, February 25. Thank you for your patience.

A Precautionary Boil Water Order is in place for the Plateau.

The City will inform you when the precautionary boil water order is lifted.

Please be advised of a water shut down on Friday, February 24, 2023 starting at 5:00 p.m. to allow for necessary water infrastructure work. The City plans to complete this work as soon as possible.

Location of water interruption: Plateau

Once water is restored, all affected locations are under a boil water advisory.
