Water System Flow Testing This Week

June 8, 2026 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that Public Works crews will be conducting approximately 40 flow tests throughout the city this week.

Residents may see crews operating hydrants in different areas of the city. During flow testing, residents may experience temporary water discoloration and short-term reductions in water pressure. These impacts are expected to be brief and are a normal part of the testing process.

If discoloration occurs, residents are advised to run their cold water taps until the water clears and to avoid doing laundry until the water has returned to normal.

Residents experiencing prolonged discoloration or pressure loss are encouraged to contact Public Works at 867-979-5630.

The City thanks residents for their patience and understanding as this important work is completed.
