Temporary Road Closure – Akilliq Drive
April 24, 2025 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents of a temporary road closure on Akilliq Drive, from the Discovery Hotel to the intersection of Allannguaq Street. This closure is in place to allow crews to open a nearby creek, facilitating spring thaw runoff.

This section of the road is currently closed and is expected to reopen at 9:00 PM tonight.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes and to exercise caution around the area. The City appreciates your cooperation and understanding as we work to safely manage spring runoff.
