Road Closure - Atungauyait Drive and Paunna Road, Phase 1

August 28, 2026 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that there will be a road closure at the intersection of Atungauyait Drive and Paunna Road to allow for the installation of water and sewer main lines.

This closure will be in effect from Tuesday, September 1, 2026, to Friday, September 11, 2026.

Detour signage will be in place. Residents and drivers are asked to follow all posted instructions and plan alternative routes. Access for local residents will be maintained.

A map outlining the road closure and detour routes is included below.

For safety reasons, please stay clear of construction equipment and work areas.

The City apologizes for the inconvenience and thanks residents for their patience and understanding as this important work is completed.
