Road Closure – Niaqunngusiariaq Road

July 6, 2026 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that Niaqunngusiariaq Road will be closed to traffic between Saputi Road and Kangiq & Iniq Drive to allow for essential upgrades to water and sewer infrastructure.

This closure will be in effect from Wednesday, July 8, 2026, to Thursday, July 16, 2026.

The City recognizes that closures on major roads can be disruptive, and we appreciate residents’ patience as this work is completed. Planning ahead and using alternate routes will help reduce delays in the area.

A map is included below to indicate the affected area and location of the work. Detour signage will be in place. Residents and drivers are asked to follow all posted instructions and plan alternative routes. Access for local residents will be maintained.

For safety reasons, please stay clear of construction equipment and work areas.

The City apologizes for the inconvenience and thanks residents for their patience and understanding as this important work is completed.
