Partial Road Closure – Niaqunngusiariaq Road

July 17, 2026 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents of a partial road closure on Niaqunngusiariaq Road, in the area around Apex Hill, from July 20 to August 2. The closure is required to complete granular work associated with paving a portion of the roadway.

Traffic will continue during construction, but only one lane will be open at a time. Temporary traffic lights will guide vehicles, allowing them to take turns passing through the work area.

Flag persons may also be deployed during specific construction activities or when manual traffic control is required.

Motorists should expect short delays and are asked to obey all traffic control devices, posted speed limits and directions provided by flag persons.

Traffic control devices will be relocated as work progresses through each section of the work area around Apex Hill. Access for local residents and emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
