Long Term Water Supply – Open House Information Sessions
November 20, 2024 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit invites residents to attend information sessions on the Long-Term Water Program. These sessions will provide updates on progress and plans following earlier community engagements.

Dates and Locations:
  • November 27, 2024: Elder’s Qammaq Hall, Iqaluit, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM
  • November 28, 2024: Abe Okpik Hall, Apex, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Program Goals:
  • Replace and modernize aging piped infrastructure to reduce leaks and breaks.
  • Develop a new long-term water source and infrastructure to meet current and future needs, supporting economic growth.
  • Build a new reservoir to ensure adequate year-round water storage.

The Long-Term Water Program is funded by the Federal Government through the Disaster Mitigation and Adaptation Fund (DMAF), with an approved budget of $214,070,600.

At the sessions, interpreters and project team members will be available to answer your questions and hear your feedback.

We encourage all residents to attend and participate in shaping the future of our water infrastructure.
