Local Job Opportunities with the 2026 Census
September 12, 2025 – Iqaluit, Nunavut
The City of Iqaluit would like to share important information from Statistics Canada regarding upcoming job opportunities for the 2026 Census of Population.
While the City typically does not promote external job postings, these census-related positions have a direct and lasting impact on our community. The data collected supports planning for programs and services in areas such as housing, education, language preservation, health, and social services, all essential to Iqalummiut.
Statistics Canada is now hiring for several roles, including:
Recruitment Clerks, supporting the hiring process for field staff
Field Operations Supervisors, training and coordinating census teams
These jobs help ensure that the voices of Inuit communities are reflected in the data that shapes national and territorial programs. Local participation ensures that the lived realities and priorities of Iqaluit residents are accurately captured and represented in decision-making at all levels.
Preference will be given to applicants from local communities, and positions may offer flexible hours suited to a variety of work schedules.
Community members with questions about the positions or the application process can contact an Indigenous Liaison Advisor for support. For assistance in Iqaluit, please reach out to:
