Final Date for New Client Applications, Card Replacements & Account Balances – Inuit Child First Initiative
March 24, 2025 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents that the last day to submit new client applications for the existing Inuit Child First Initiative (ICFI) is Wednesday, March 26, 2025.

Additionally, March 26, 2025, will also be the final day for clients to request a replacement for lost or misplaced cards. This will allow stores enough time to reactivate new cards before the program ends.

No exemptions or extensions will be granted beyond this date for either new client applications or replacement card requests.

All existing accounts under this initiative must have their balances spent by the end of the day on March 31, 2025. Any unspent funds will be returned to the program after this date.

At this time, the City has not yet received confirmation regarding its 2025-26 ICFI program and is still waiting for further details from Indigenous Services Canada. We do not expect the program to continue seamlessly into April, and there may be delays before it starts up again as we wait for our application to be reviewed. Once more information is available, we will provide an update to the community.
