Casual Facilities Helpers (5)- Christmas Games

The City of Iqaluit is looking for hardworking, reliable individuals to work at the Christmas Games and other recreation events.

Reporting to the Recreation Program Coordinator, you will work evenings and weekends and be involved in a diverse range of job activities including facility supervision, security, janitorial duties, record keeping, cashier duties and customer service.  

Casual facility workers must be available to work December 22, 2017 until January 2, 2018, including holidays.

 Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have completed grade ten
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends
  • Have the ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Standard First Aid and CPR
  • Previous janitorial/cleaning experience
  • Cashier experience
  • Building maintenance/experience working with tools
  • Previous experience working in an arena
  • The ability to speak Inuktitut
  • A valid Class 5 Nunavut driver’s license

The rate of pay for this position is $25.84 an hour plus 6% vacation pay; the workweek hours can vary from 5-35 hours per week.
