Holiday Hours for Trucked Services – Monday, May 23 2022

The City would like to advise residents that City offices will be closed to the public and trucked-services will not run on Monday, May 23rd.

Trucked services will resume on Tuesday, May 24th at 6:00 AM and run until complete.

Residents requesting water delivery may call the City’s dispatch service at 867-979-5650, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. A service charge of $350 is applied for emergency delivery.

The City is pleased to announce that the annual community clean up will take place on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We encourage all residents, businesses and visitors to spend the day outdoors and assist in cleaning up our beautiful community.

Bags, gloves, and other supplies will be available for pickup starting at 8:30 AM outside the Iqaluit Library/Unikkaarvik Visitor Center.

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residence that on Sunday May 15th, 2022 from 1-6pm there will be an animal registration tag drive at the Iqaluit Curling Rink.

At the same time, RainCoast Dog Rescue Society will be providing a complimentary Vaccine Clinic for those who otherwise cannot afford vaccines, or do not have a way to get their pets out to NunaVet.

Landfill Temporarily Not Accepting Scrap Metal
May 11, 2022 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

They City would like to inform residents that due to potential safety hazard for residents, the landfill will close the scrap metal portion of the site from May 16, 2022, to June 16, 2022, to allow for metal crushing activities. During this time, the landfill will not receive any scrap metal, appliances, or end of life vehicles.

The landfill scrap metal area will reopen for public drop-off on June 17, 2022.
