The City administration was tasked by City Council to reduce the over all deficit facing the City. Within Public Works, all accounts were analyzed for inefficiencies, overspending and areas where cost savings could be realized. The Water & Sewer Fund (which pays for both piped services and trucked services) was noted to be running an average deficit of about $1M per year for the past five years.
