Business License Renewal Portal Now Open
November 4, 2026 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit advises all business owners that the online portal for 2027 business license renewals is now open.

Business owners are encouraged to submit their renewal applications by January 31, 2027, to take advantage of a discounted renewal fee. Applications received on or after February 1, 2027, will be subject to the full renewal fee.

As outlined in the City of Iqaluit Business Licensing By-Law No. 859, all businesses must hold a valid 2027 license by February 15, 2027, to avoid penalties. Applications submitted after this date will also be charged a $50.00 administrative fee in addition to the regular renewal fee.

Last year the City launched a new online Business License Portal, powered by Cloud Permit. This platform is now used for all business license applications and renewals, offering a more efficient and accessible experience for applicants. All active license holders have been sent a renewal guide by email from d.gagne@iqaluit.ca to their listed contact email.
