Road Closure – Fred Coman Street

September 16, 2026 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that Fred Coman Street will be closed to all traffic on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM to support Qaujigiartiit’s 20th anniversary celebration.

The road closure is necessary to provide a safe space for community activities taking place as part of the celebration.

A map is included below to indicate the affected area. Detour signage will be in place. Residents and drivers are asked to follow all posted instructions, use caution in the area, and plan alternative routes.

The City apologizes for any inconvenience and thanks residents for their understanding and cooperation.
