Road Closure – Sivumugiaq Street

September 4, 2026 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents of a road closure affecting a section of Sivumugiaq Street between Nunavut Drive and Ikaluktuutiak Drive.

The closure will be in effect every weekend during the month of September, from 7:00 AM on Saturday to 7:00 PM on Sunday, on the following dates:

• September 5-6
• September 12-13
• September 19-20
• September 26-27

The road closure is necessary to facilitate the safe passage of vehicles and equipment involved in the replacement of siding and trim on the Government of Canada building.

Motorists are asked to follow the designated detour route shown on the map below and to obey all posted signage in the area.

The City of Iqaluit apologizes for any inconvenience and thanks residents for their understanding and cooperation.
