Road Closure – Ungalliqpaat Cres

July 6, 2026 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents of a planned road closure to support the Nunavut Day Softball Tournament on Thursday, July 9, 2026.

This closure is necessary to help ensure the safety of players, spectators, staff, volunteers, and residents attending the tournament.

Ungalliqpaat Crescent will be closed from Ukkivik Lane to Sivumugiaq Street from 9:00AM to 9:00PM. A map highlighting the road closure is included below.

Residents, drivers, and pedestrians are asked to use caution in the area, follow posted signage, and allow extra time when travelling. Short delays can be expected.

The City is pleased to help support community activities that bring residents together for Nunavut Day. We encourage everyone attending the softball tournament to enjoy the day safely, respectfully, and with consideration for others in the area.
