Emergency Water Shutdown Notice

March 26, 2022 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

 

A water interruption will be taking place effective immediately due to a water main break.

 

Location of water interruption: 676, 683 A-F, 681 A-D, 674, 679 A-F, 677 A-D, 675 A-D, 673 A-F, 672 A-F, 670 A-D, 671 A-D, 358, R59, 171, 172 A-D, 173, 174 A-D, 175, 176 A-D, 177, 179, 181

These areas remain under a precautionary boil water advisory.

During a precautionary boil water advisory, the City recommends that all water for consumption is brought to a rolling boil for a minimum of one full minute.

It is recommended that all water be boiled for the following uses:

  • drinking;
  • preparing infant formulas;
  • preparing juices and ice cubes;
  • washing fruits and vegetables;
  • cooking; or
  • brushing of teeth.

Water can be boiled either in a pot or kettle on a stove or an electric kettle without an automatic shut-off.  It is not necessary to boil water used for anything other than the above list.
