Turf Installation at AWG Arena

May 08, 2025 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents that the ice at the Arctic Winter Games Arena has been removed, and staff are currently in the process of installing turf for the upcoming summer season.

The turf will be ready for community use starting Saturday, May 17, 2025.

Residents interested in booking time on the turf can do so by contacting the Recreation Department at 867-975-8545 or by emailing aquaticcentre@iqaluit.ca.

The City also encourages residents to stay tuned for announcements on upcoming summer programming, including soccer, fitness classes, and other recreational activities at the arena.

As always, users are reminded to follow facility guidelines and help maintain a safe, respectful environment for all participants.
