Temporary Closure of Metal Section at the Landfill

October 31, 2025 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

 

The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents that the metal section of the landfill will be closed from November 3 to 7, to facilitate the transportation of crushed metal off the site.

 

During this period, the landfill will not accept any scrap metal, appliances, or end-of-life vehicles. Regular garbage waste disposal will remain open as usual.

 

Heavy equipment and trucks will be operating in the area, and for everyone's safety, we ask that you please avoid the metal section until the work is complete.
