Swimming Lessons Registration Information

September 19, 2025 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

Swimming Lessons Are Back!

Join us for our fall session of swimming lessons running from October 18th to December 6th.

To maintain consistency across all programs, swimming lesson registration will follow the same lottery system used for our summer day camps.

Registration opens:
September 18th at 1:00 PM

Registration closes:
October 2nd at 4:00 PM

In previous years, lesson spaces filled up within minutes, making it difficult for many families to secure a spot, especially those dealing with internet limitations or scheduling conflicts. This new process is designed to reduce stress and increase equity by giving all residents an equal opportunity to register, regardless of when they log in during the registration window.

How to Register – Lottery Waitlist Process

Step 1:

Visit https://iqaluit.ca/residents/recreation and click on the link that says "Recreation Online Registration Portal". Log in to your ActiveNet account. If you do not have an account, you must create one before registering. Residents are encouraged to complete this step in advance to avoid any delays when registration opens.

Step 2:

Go to the registration section and select the lesson spaces you would like your child to attend.

Step 3:

All registered children will be automatically placed on a waitlist. Although spaces will appear as “Full,” please continue with the registration process to be added to the waitlist.

Step 4:

Your child will be placed on the waitlist.

Step 5:

After registration closes on October 2, a random lottery draw will be held.

Step 6:

If your child is selected through the lottery, you will receive an email confirmation indicating their enrolment.

Once registration closes on October 2nd, a lottery draw will take place to determine placement.
