Reduced Aquatic Centre Schedule
August 30, 2022 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that effective September 1st, 2022, the pool will operate with a significantly reduced schedule.

Ongoing staff shortages are negatively impacting swim programming. The Recreation Department is working hard to train, recruit and hire lifeguards into full time, part time and casual positions. The Recreation Department is particularly focused on recruiting those individuals who can work as lifeguards during the daytime.

The City of Iqaluit Recreation department will release a schedule, bi-weekly, until further notice. Once consistent staffing is available, additional swims will be added to the schedule.
Swims will be re-added to the schedule when consistent staffing is available. Please check the Iqaluit Recreation Facebook page, or contact Guest Services at the Aquatic Centre for updates.
