Pet Tag Bylaw – Good Pet Contest

The City of Iqaluit Municipal Enforcement department would like to remind residents that all domestic animals in the City are required to wear licence tags. Pet licences are free and are available at the Municipal Enforcement office in Building 901.

To recognize responsible pet owners in the Iqaluit, we are launching the “Good Pet Contest.” Simply take a photo of your pet wearing their City of Iqaluit licence tag, and email it to Info@ Iqaluit.ca, along with your name, the pet’s name, and their licence number. We will then publish the pet photos via our social media feeds for the month of June.

On July 4th, we will randomly select one lucky pet contestant, who will receive a City of Iqaluit gift bag full of toys and treats.

Photo Information: Ulu (left) the Iqaluit Municipal Enforcement Dog, answers some questions from the Iqaluit Fire Department’s Sparky the Firedog and Iqaluit Animal Control Officer Austin Follett-Barrieau. Ulu is renewing their City of Iqaluit Animal License to get ready for the Good Pet Contest. If you send in a photo of your pet wearing their City of Iqaluit Animal License (with the tag number, the pet’s name and the owner’s) you could win an Animal Prize Package from the City of Iqaluit. The draw is on July 4th, good luck.
