National Day of Mourning
April 19, 2024 – Iqaluit, Nunavut
On April 28th, The City of Iqaluit will be lowering our flags to half-mast, in observation of the National Day of Mourning.
The National Day of Mourning has been marked annually since 1991. This day is dedicated to remembering those who have lost their lives, suffered injury or illness on the job, or experienced a workplace tragedy.
The City respects and values the workers who strive to make Iqaluit a better place to live for us all, and urges you to take a moment on April 28th to acknowledge their hard work.
