Mock Spill Response Training Exercise – Imiqtarviminiq Lake Area

June 22, 2026 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

 

 

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that Nunatta Environmental Services Inc. and Uqsuq Fuels Ltd. will be conducting a series of mock spill response training exercises in the Imiqtarviminiq Lake area from June 22 to June 25, 2026, between the hours of 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

 

Residents may notice response personnel and equipment operating in the area during these exercises.

Please note that these are training exercises only. No petroleum products or other hazardous materials will be used. Activities will consist solely of the deployment of a limited amount of spill response equipment and personnel for training purposes.
