Masks available for essential workplaces
June 3, 2021 – Iqaluit, Nunavut
The City would like to ensure that essential workplaces are adequately equipped with personal protective equipment when employees return to offices on June 3 following the new Public Health order.
If you are part of an essential business or organization that requires personal protective equipment, please send your request to Alison Drummond, Director of Corporate Services, at A.Drummond@iqaluit.ca.
The City has a limited supply of masks, Tyvek suits and disposable gloves thanks to a generous donation from the Hamlet of Arviat.
Mayor Joe Savikataaq Jr.’s office redirected a large supply of PPE that was on its way to Arviat when the first local positive case of COVID-19 was announced in April 2021. The City has been using this equipment to supply essential businesses and organizations with equipment as needed.
On behalf of the City of Iqaluit and its residents, the City would like to thank the Hamlet of Arviat for the generous donation of personal protective equipment.
Municipal Enforcement will continue to hand out an additional supply of masks to the public during education patrols.
