Iqaluit Firefighters Raise Over $2,000 For Cancer Research
October 4, 2023 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit is pleased to inform the public that the Walk For The Cure event hosted by the City of Iqaluit Firefighters was a resounding success.

Firefighters estimate that between 200 and 300 people joined them on October 2nd, for a 1K and 5K walk or run, a chance to meet the firefighters and see their trucks, face painting and a bake sale.

At the event, $680 was raised in person. Another $1600 was collected from the online campaign. Due to the firefighters giving up part of their holiday Monday, over $2,200 was raised for cancer research.

The City would like to thank the firefighters for their hard work, and the public for supporting this great cause.
