Iqaluit Aquatic Centre Closure for Annual Maintenance

July 14, 2025 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

 

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents of the upcoming annual closure of select recreation facilities for scheduled maintenance and repairs.

Closure Details:

• Gym: Closed from July 28 to August 3, 2025
• Pool: Closed from July 28 to August 13, 2025

Each year, it is necessary to close the swimming pool and related facilities to complete maintenance required to meet public safety standards and service expectations. This annual closure allows staff to perform critical work that cannot be completed while the facilities are in use. These efforts help extend the life of the City’s assets, minimize future program disruptions due to mechanical issues, and ensure a safe, high-quality environment for all staff and guests.

The City appreciates residents’ understanding and cooperation during this necessary maintenance period.
