International Women’s Day
March 8, 2023 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit wishes everyone a happy International Women’s Day. This year’s theme is “Embrace Equity.”

In what is quickly becoming an annual tradition, the Iqaluit Fire Department team on call today is made up entirely of women to celebrate International Women’s Day.

International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women, and has been held annually since 1911.

In Iqaluit, 49.8% of all residents are women. The City wishes each of them a happy International Women’s Day, and recognizes the hard work the women of Iqaluit do in every sector of our community. Today is yours, enjoy it.
