Important Information About Your Property Tax Bill
February 25, 2026 – Iqaluit, Nunavut
The City of Iqaluit would like to let residents know that Interim Property Tax Notices for the first half of 2026 have been mailed out effective February 17, 2026.
Payment due dates are in two installments. The first installment is due on March 31st, 2026 and the second installment is due on May 29th, 2026. Residents are encouraged to submit payment on or before the due dates to avoid late charges.
Interest will be applied to outstanding balances in accordance with applicable City By-laws.
Property taxes play an important role in supporting the services our community relies on every day, including road maintenance, water services, recreation facilities, and emergency services. We thank residents for their continued contributions to keeping Iqaluit strong and moving forward.
If you previously received mail through an old PO Box and have not yet updated your billing address with the City, or to set up electronic email billing, we encourage you to contact the Finance Department by email at accountsreceivable@iqaluit.ca or by telephone at 867-979-5602 to ensure your information is current. Keeping your mailing address up to date will help make sure you receive your bill on time and avoid any unnecessary delays.
For added convenience and peace of mind, residents may also choose to have their property taxes direct billed to a credit card on file.
Payments can be made through online banking, in person at City Hall, or by pre-authorized payment. The Finance team would be happy to assist you with setting up direct billing or answering any questions about payment options.
If you have questions about your bill or need to discuss payment arrangements, please reach out. The City is committed to working with residents to help keep accounts in good standing.
Final Tax Notices for the last half of 2026 are expected to be completed in June 2026.
