
Hazardous Waste and Small Electronic Disposal – Saturday July 15th
The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents that there will be a drop-off for hazardous waste on Saturday July 15th, from 9 am until 3 pm, at the Elders Qammaq (Building 227) parking lot.
We will also be collecting portable electronic waste at this time.
Household items to be accepted (include but are not limited to):
Adhesives, Aerosols, Automotive and Household Batteries, Cleaners, Corrosives, Fuels, Mercury, Oxidizers, Poisons, Paint Cans and Spray Paint, Pharmaceuticals, Solvents
Items not accepted:
Anti-freeze, electronics waste, used oil, oil filters, oil containers, tires, propane tanks, biological waste, infectious waste, radioactive waste, explosives, ammunition and industrial waste.
Residents are asked to keep the labels on the materials brought for disposal. This helps to identify the substances for proper disposal and avoids the need for testing substances.
