Freezing Conditions Ahead
November 13, 2025 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit is advising residents that a mix of freezing and near-freezing temperatures over the next few days may result in icy and unpredictable road conditions. Conditions are expected to be especially challenging around 5:00 PM today, when a dip in temperature is likely to cause rapid surface freezing during peak traffic hours.

Drivers are reminded not to stop in the right of way or impede the flow of traffic to let vehicles out of intersections. This can create unsafe situations and reduce visibility for others on the road.

All drivers are urged to take their time, leave extra space between vehicles, and drive according to road conditions.

Residents receiving trucked services are reminded to keep their driveways clear and sanded to ensure continued service.

City crews continue active operations and are working to keep roads as safe as possible.

Thank you for helping keep our roads safe.
