Free Youth Admission at Iqaluit Aquatic Centre
August 11, 2025 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit is pleased to announce that, starting Thursday, August 14, 2025, youth aged 18 and under will receive free admission to the Aquatic Centre pool.

This initiative supports our ongoing commitment to making recreation more accessible for youth and encouraging active, healthy lifestyles in our community, recognizing that regular participation in sport and physical activity provides important benefits such as improved physical health, mental well-being, and social development.

Please note the following:
   Supervision requirements remain unchanged: Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied in the water by a responsible adult.
   Free admission applies to pool access only. Fitness Centre fees are not affected.
   Swim lessons and instructional programs are not included in the free access and will continue to be subject to standard fees.
   Lifeguard-to-participant ratios remain the same to ensure safety.
   There are no changes to existing annual or family passes at this time. The City is reviewing the pass structure, with any updates to come into effect in January 2026.

We welcome families and youth to enjoy all the benefits of the Aquatic Centre and encourage regular participation in recreational activity.
