Day Camp Closure – Tomorrow Afternoon Only

July 21, 2026 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

 

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise parents and guardians that the City Day Camp will close at 12:00 p.m. tomorrow, July 22, due to an unexpected reduction in staff availability.

Despite exploring all available staffing options, we are unable to maintain the safe staff-to-camper ratios required to operate the program for the afternoon.

Parents and guardians are kindly asked to make arrangements to pick up their children by 12:00 p.m.

This closure applies to tomorrow afternoon only. We anticipate regular Day Camp programming will resume as scheduled the following day.

We recognize that this short-notice change may disrupt families' plans, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. The safety and well-being of our campers remains our top priority, and we greatly appreciate the patience, flexibility, and understanding of our Day Camp families.
