Municipal Enforcement

In a State of Emergency, Municipal Enforcement Peace Officers will support the CPHO public
health orders with education, compliance to public health orders, issuing a violation, and the
closure of a non-essential business.

Municipal Enforcement will patrol gatherings and mask wearing in municipal public spaces, at
businesses, and with taxis and company vehicles.

To report violations or complaints of social gatherings in home dwellings, the public is asked to
contact the RCMP at 979-1111.

To retrieve a lost pet from Municipal Enforcement, owners must maintain social distancing,
wait outside and are required to wear a mask when picking up their animal. Owners will be
provided detailed pick-up instructions, which includes a specific time. Contact
municipalenforcement@iqaluit.ca or 979-5650 for questions.
